Hamburgers
Here's a simple recipe for making delicious hamburgers, along with the ingredients and short steps:
Ingredients
- 450g ground beef or chicken (80% lean, 20% fat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: cheese slices, lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise
Steps
Prepare the Ground Beef:
- Divide the ground beef/Chicken into 4 equal portions.
- Gently shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.
- Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing up during cooking.
Season the Patties:
- Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
Cook the Patties:
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or adjust cooking time to your preferred level of doneness.
- If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
Toast the Buns:
- While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
Assemble the Burgers:
- Place each cooked patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun.
- Add desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
- Cover with the top half of the bun.
Serve:
- Serve the hamburgers immediately, while hot.
